Galore Creek

Galore Creek, located in northwestern British Columbia in Tahltan Territory, is one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold-silver deposits.

Focused on responsible development, the Galore Creek Project team is currently completing a comprehensive Prefeasibility Study, targeting completion in 2025, in parallel to initiating a Major Regulatory Approval process.

Once in production, the Galore Creek deposit will provide decades of critical minerals to support Canada’s energy transition.

AboutGalore Creek

The Galore Creek Project is located in Tahltan Territory in northwestern British Columbia, approximately 370 kilometres northwest of Smithers.

Galore Creek Mining Corporation, a 50:50 partnership between Teck and Newmont Corporation, is committed to completing comprehensive environmental and social baseline studies, as well as design and engineering work to advance the Galore Creek copper-gold-silver deposits towards development.

Development of the Galore Creek Project is being undertaken with the highest standards in health and safety and environmental stewardship, and in close collaboration with the Tahltan Nation and local communities.

The Project has a Mineral Resource Estimate, reported in 2023, of 12,159 M lbs copper, 9.44 M oz gold, and 174.1 M oz silver (M&I) located in a highly prospective >180,000 ha contiguous mineral tenure package.

Project construction would create an estimated 4,500 direct jobs over the five-year construction period.

In production, Galore Creek would significantly increase Canada’s annual copper production, and create an estimated 1,200 direct jobs over the initial 21-year mine life.
