For more than 100 years, Teck has been innovating. From implementing game-changing clean water technologies for mining to building tools like energy-efficient smart ore shovels that help us dig more intelligently.

At the core of our culture, innovation is supported by programs like the $25 million Ideas at Work Fund that help bring the best and brightest ideas across Teck to life.

Teck is committed to innovating and deploying technologies that improve sustainability, efficiency, health and safety while driving productivity.

At Teck, we believe in making the world better through better mining practices. We’re also very clear on our role in making this happen.

Our commitment to sustainability and responsible resource development is cemented by key aspirational goals we’ve set for our company. They span eight themes and address some of the world’s most pressing issues. The evidence suggests our efforts are paying off.

Today we are widely recognized as a world leader in responsible mining. We’re the top-ranked mining company by almost every major ratings agency, including the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, Sustainalytics, Vigeo Eiris, and FTSE4Good.

At Teck, we're committed to helping build healthy, vibrant communities wherever we operate. This includes funding initiatives that invest in local charitable organizations, institutions and civic initiatives that strengthen communities.

For example, we’re partnering with major Canadian transit systems, post-secondary institutes and health professionals to fight bacteria. Teck's Copper & Health program is funding the installation of copper on high-touch surfaces on buses, subways, streetcars, school residences and campus learning areas.  Copper kills up to 99.9% of the bacteria found on high-touch surfaces and by installing antimicrobial copper coating, we are making it safer and healthier for people.
