Our Approach to Sustainability
Our approach to sustainability is based on Teck's material topics. Material topics comprise two categories: focused ambitions and enabling topics. Focused ambitions drive our sustainability strategy forward to 2030, with emphasis on where we can create the greatest positive impact for our communities, for the environment and for our business. Enabling topics, which are embedded within our business, drive the progress of our corporate strategy, centred around the pillars of core excellence and resilience.
Towards Sustainable Mining
Explore Teck’s performance under the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) standard, a globally recognized sustainability program to assist mining companies to effectively manage critical environmental and social risks.
POLICIES AND COMMITMENTS
Our policies and other commitments are communicated to our employees and the broader workforce through internal announcements, intranet newsletters, and regular training and onboarding activities. These policies and commitments are also communicated to communities, business partners and other communities of interest (COIs) such as government and regulatory bodies, industry associations and strategic partners, as part of regular engagement, through our participation in industry and multi-stakeholder committees.
