Teck’s Greenhills Operations has been awarded the John T. Ryan National Safety Trophy as the safest coal mine in Canada for 2015. This is the third consecutive year that the Greenhills steelmaking coal operation has received the award, which goes to the mine that experienced the lowest reportable injury frequency per 200,000 hours worked in Canada.
“This award recognizes the hard work of employees at Greenhills Operations to ensure their safety and the safety of their coworkers,” said Robin Sheremeta, Senior Vice President, Coal. “I commend everyone at Greenhills for this outstanding achievement, which demonstrates their commitment to achieving the goal of everyone going home safe and healthy every day.”
This is the fifth time that Greenhills has received the John T. Ryan National Safety award since its inception.
