Bringing Unique Opportunities to Students in Alaska

January 19, 2016

Giving the youth of the Northwest Arctic a chance to experience the sport of cross-country skiing is the goal of NANANordic, a Teck-sponsored program that brings some of the world’s best Nordic skiers to Alaska to teach students from Kindergarten to grade 12 how to cross-country ski. The program, which aims to encourage active lifestyles year-round, is delivered in cooperation with local schools – and, after each session is complete, NANANordic also donates the ski equipment used during the program to participating schools. So far, more than 1,500 students have participated in the program.

For more information about the program, visit www.nananordic.com. Go to www.teck.com/reddog and show your support for continuing to work together.
