Trail Operations is currently seeking an individual in the role of Raw Materials Engineer. This challenging position’s primary responsibilities include supporting Trail Operations’ annual planning cycle process, completing metallurgical production forecasts, providing economic evaluations, and assisting in the maintenance of a metallurgical/financial model. This position reports to the Raw Materials Manager with daily oversight from the Sr. Raw Materials Engineer.
•Proactive contribution to a safe working environment through facilitation of hazard risk assessments, and implementation of management of change processes.
•Providing analysis and interpretation of metallurgical and economic evaluations for business activities related to project and process investigations
•Prepare routine production forecasts to support raw materials supply decisions.
•Complete long-term production plans to support the annual planning cycle process.
•Perform validation and development of Trail Operations’ metallurgical/financial model to ensure accurate reflection of metallurgy and financial drivers.
•Gain understanding of factors impacting feed supply and metal production including: logistics, concentrate and metal market trends and contractual language.
•Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering.
•Eligible or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia (APEGBC)
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field.
•Advanced software proficiency with Microsoft Excel
•Proficiency in Visual Basic Applications (VBA), linear programming based modelling and the Aspen PIMS software would be an asset.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Demonstrated leadership capabilities
