Teck to contribute $1 million plus match employees donations up to a maximum of $1.2 million in total to earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan11-14-TR

Vancouver, BC – In response to the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan, Teck Resources Limited (“Teck”, TSX: TCK.A and TCK.B, NYSE: TCK) today committed $1 million to the Canadian Red Cross, CARE and Save the Children to support the relief efforts.  Teck will also match any funds donated by employees to a maximum of $1.2 million.  

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of the life and devastation that the earthquake and tsunami have caused in Japan,” said Don Lindsay, president and CEO.  “Our hearts go out to the people of Japan including our partners and customers as they deal with this terrible tragedy.”
